ServiceNation in Full Swing in Michigan! ServiceNation is the first campaign of a national organization called Be the Change, Inc. which exists to bring citizen service and elected officials together to form public policy and build infrastructure around National Service. This is a grassroots and grasstops movement, with a huge Day of Action planned for September 27th. | • AmeriCorps Members Revitalized Benton Harbor Neighborhood On Wednesday, June 11th and Thursday, June 12th more than 250 current Michigan's AmeriCorps members from all over the state focused on rejuvenating Benton Harbor's neighborhoods. As part of the 2008 Russ Mawby Signature Service Project, AmeriCorps members applied their service skills at Harbor Habitat for Humanity sites in the Crystal Estates neighborhood. Projects included landscaping, building sheds, constructing subfloors, and framing. | 2008 Michigan's AmeriCorps Week The second-annual National AmeriCorps Week joined tens of thousands of AmeriCorps members, alums, staff, partners, and friends to celebrate service. All across Michigan, AmeriCorps Week activities and events showcased the power of AmeriCorps members and alumni and educated people about the role, impact, and importance of AmeriCorps in our communities. |
