Due to an Executive order crafted to help streamline state government, the Organic Advisory Committee has been abolished effective July 29, 2007.

In September 1998 the Michigan Organic Advisory Committee was created and charged with developing a strategic plan; serving as a framework for advancing a system of production, processing and marketing products of organic agriculture in Michigan.
