Training for Audiologists
First Time in Michigan !
Michigan's Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program and the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) are partnering to offer an exciting training opportunity for audiologists. The training combines six weeks of online preparation with a four day on-site session in NOVI, MI, emphasizing clinical procedures and hands-on practicum. Audiology CEU's (40 hours of 4.0 CEU's) will be available for this training.
Scholarships are available for Michigan Audiologists.

This annual conference is for parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing, audiologists and early interventionists that work with families. The conference will be held at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Michigan. Parent scholarships will be available! This is an event you won't want to miss!
Speakers include: Anne Marie Tharpe, Ph.D. audiologist, and Robert Baldwin, Ph.D. psychologist, along with Michigan's own experts in the field!
A pre-conference parent dinner will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010. The dinner is being sponsored by Michigan Hands & Voices Guide By Your Side and will feature speaker Robert Baldwin, Ph.D.

The Newborn Hearing Screening On-Line Training is now live! Go to http://learning.mihealth.org to access the course.
The goals of the course are to provide information on universal newborn hearing screening and to increase screener proficiency in all Michigan hospitals. Guidelines are given to accompany this on-line course with hands-on training. This course is especially important for nurses, hearing screeners and managers of newborn hearing screening programs.

The Michigan Department of Community Health, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program fifth annual EHDI Conference for audiologists, interventionists and parents was held on March 19, 2009. This conference was intended for families of young children with hearing loss and professionals who work with deaf or hard of hearing children. Speakers were Joy Peterson and Eileen Rall, Audiologists from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and Kathy Rheume, Counselor for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
