• Public Forum, Conference on Bullying in Traverse City
On March 15-16, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and the Michigan Civil Rights Commission co-hosted two events on bullying in Traverse City with several community partners.

• Michigan Department of Civil Rights Services Now Easier to Access
New web portal accepts on-line requests for assistance

Lansing - Beginning today, Michigan residents will have an easier time accessing important services from the Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR), including filing a discrimination complaint, reporting an incident of bias or hate, requesting training or seeking information. The new MDCR web portal will allow anyone to access the services they need right from their computer.

• MDCR Receives $185,000 to Fight Housing Discrimination in Michigan
Lansing - The US Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD) has awarded the Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR) seven grants, totaling $185,000, to enforce fair housing laws and help communities and providers better understand their rights and responsibilities. These awards are part of more than $7.5 million distributed across the nation.

On July 19, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights launched its first public service announcement, "Different/Same".

• MCRC Report on the Conditions of Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers-2010
At the March 22nd meeting, the Michigan Civil Rights Commission voted to adopt a report examining the conditions faced by migrant and seasonal farmworkers in Michigan.
