AMENDMENTS TO RULES
On March 19, 2008, the Civil Service Commission approved amendments to the following rules, effective immediately:
Rule 3-8: Veterans' Preference
The amendments removed the 5-year limit on eligibility for veterans' hiring preference. Effective immediately, veterans' preference is available without reference to the applicant's date of discharge from military service.
Rule 5-4.2, Overtime and Regulation 5.02, Premium Payment of Overtime
The amendment revised overtime eligibility for non-exclusively represented employees (NEREs). The phrase "in excess of 8 hours in a day and 40 hours in a week . . ." was amended to read "in excess of 40 hours in a week . . .".
