Q 11. What is a modified original used for?

Answer:
On June 1, 2001 Rod Collins sent a letter to all FieldManager users. This letter stated that the only time you can use a modified original is when the work item is in the original contract and you are establishing the same item in another project or category within that contract.

If you are establishing a modified original, the item code, item description and unit price must be the same as the original contract item. Place the following explanation in the reason field "The item code, item description and unit price for this Modified Original have been verified against the original contract item and are correct."
