Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging Convenes Public Input Hearings
Are you concerned about transportation, nutrition, housing, long term care, health, independence, scams, employment, or volunteer opportunities? We are looking for input from seniors, caregivers, and persons interested in the well being of older adults.
State policy makers will go on the road to convene public input hearings designed to influence the state's three-year plan for services for older adults and caregivers in Michigan.
"These local hearings present Michigan citizens with a tremendous opportunity to share their ideas about services for older adults and caregivers," said Sharon L. Gire, director of the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging. "We want to hear directly from the people about what they think should drive the state's plan for aging services."
Information gleaned will have a direct effect on any modifications made to the 2008-2010 State Plan for Aging Services. The State Plan is a requirement of the Older Americans Act and is the guiding force for the work at the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging. Persons needing accommodations for effective participation in the hearings should contact the Office of Services to the Aging at 517-373-8230, at least one week in advance.
