| Aging in Place--Battle Creek |
The Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging approved recognition to Aging in Place--Battle Creek for completing an Elder-Friendly Community Assessment for Greater Battle Creek. Some of the strengths noted in the assessment by the Community for a Lifetime review panel included the following:
- Strong focus on economic impact of an aging society.
- Strong focus on needs and interest of the baby boomers.
- Internet access and web-based information.
- Connecting the "Cruising the Age Wave" event with the Cool Cities initiative.
- Recognizing the need for a long range strategic plan (5-20 years).
