Apply to the Department of Human Services Family Independence Program (PIP)

Apply to the Department of Human Services Family Independence Program (FIP) for a variety of benefits including financial assistance, food stamps, Medicaid, and daycare reimbursement. Most of these benefits are based on income guidelines, such as a monthly grant and/or food stamps. However, a child in the care of relatives may be eligible to receive at least a small monthly allowance and Medicaid if the child has no other or limited income. Daycare reimbursement may also be available if the relative (and spouse, if applicable) is employed and/or is participating in high school completion, GED, or English-as-a-second-language classes.
