| 2009-2010 Insurance Rates
The 2009-2010 Insurance Rates are now available on the Michigan Civil Service Commission website. Published on September 15, 2009
| Temporary Layoff Information for Command Officers According to section 38.1603(8) of the State Police Retirement Act, "Final average compensation means the average annual salary for the last two years of service with the department of state police for which the member was compensated." Further, section 38.1603(10) states, "The last two years of service means the two-year period immediately preceding the member's last day of service."
If you are a Command Officer, the temporary layoffs that are part of Executive Order 2009-22 will affect your Final Average Compensation when calculating your pension if the temporary layoff period occurs during the two-year period immediately preceding your last day of service. Your pension will be calculated based on the salary for those years of service. No adjustments will be made.

| ReliaStar Life Insurance Premium Increase
If you have ReliaStar life insurance premiums deducted from your pension, the
scheduled October increase is reflected in your October pension payment. This
increase is the second step of the increase that was announced in January.
