Personal Identification Card Fees

The fee for a personal identification card is $10.  No fee will be charged for applicants 65 years of age or older, to individuals whose license has been revoked, suspended, or denied because of physical or mental disability, or for persons who are legally blind.

Acceptable proof of legal blindness can be one of the following:

  • A doctor's statement.
  • Documentation from one of Michigan's state libraries for the blind.
  • Documentation from the Department of Human Services (formerly Family Independence Agency), Commission for the Blind in Lansing.
  • A "Certificate of Completion" on letterhead stationery from the Leader Dog School.
