Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land delivered the commencement address to students graduating from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant on December 15.

"Whatever your degree, I would invite you all to consider public service," Land said to the graduates. "Our state and nation need the talent of ambitious young people like yourselves-who are willing to work together for the common good."

Following her remarks, CMU President Michael Rao presented Land with an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree in recognition of her professional achievements.
