Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in the community of Eaton Rapids on Nov. 5 and 6 to serve area customers.

The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

The Eaton Rapids Senior Center is at 201 Grand Street. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days.

"We’re committed to serving our customers with the greatest possible convenience and efficiency," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is an excellent tool that lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan."

The remainder of the month the mobile office will travel to Elsie, Westphalia and Vermontville. It has logged nearly 100,000 miles since it first hit the road six years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
