Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be at the Lansing Center on Jan. 28 and 29 to serve area customers.

The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

It will be in front of the Lansing Center on Michigan Avenue in downtown Lansing for the Annual Trade Show of the Michigan Township Association. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

"Making the Department of State more convenient and accessible is the foundation of my agenda," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is an excellent tool that lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan."

In February, the Mobile Branch Office travels to the Cobo Center for the 46th Annual Detroit Boat Show. It has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly seven years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, vehicle license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
