FAQ
  Organ Donation
I filled out the information on the back of my driver's license. Why didn't I get a heart sticker?

Answer:

Filling out the organ donation information on your driver's license does indicate your wish to be an organ and tissue donor, but it does not place your name on the Michigan Organ Donor Registry. Adding your name to the registry is the best way to ensure that your wish will be carried out. The heart sticker you'll receive for your license or state identification card then alerts law enforcement, emergency responders and hospital personnel to your wish to be a donor. Visit the Online Michigan Organ Donor Registry or any Secretary of State office to add your name to the donor registry.

If you did not find the information you need, enter a descriptive word or phrase in the Search field located in the upper right corner or send us an e-mail and we will help you get the information you need.
