If the taxes have been paid and the appropriate box is marked on the return indicating that the taxes have been paid, the check will be issued in the name of the taxpayer. If the taxes have not been paid, or the appropriate box on the return is not marked, the check will be issued in the name of the taxpayer and County Treasurer. If the current year taxes have not been paid but the previous year's have, and the taxpayer submits a copy of the property tax statements for the previous year indicating taxes were paid, the check will be issued to the taxpayer. E-filers should indicate on Schedule CR-5, Column C, that taxes have been paid and the check will be issued to the taxpayer.
People that e-file should keep a copy of the paid receipts with their records.
