2004 Fee Schedule Correction Memo

DATE:    February 20, 2004

TO:        All Interested Parties

FROM:   Health Care Services Division

RE:        Fee Schedule Correction Memo

It has been brought to our attention that the fee schedule tables for the medicine services and laboratory & pathology services had rounding errors. Due to the rounding errors, the maximum allowable payments listed in those 2 tables did not equal the RVU x the conversion factor of $47.77.

Both the Fee Schedule tables for the medicine services and the laboratory & pathology services have now been corrected and posted on the website so that that maximum allowable payment or the MAP will equal the RVU times the conversion factor of $47.77.  You can either download the corrected tables, or you can calculate the maximum allowable payments by multiplying the listed RVU by the conversion factor of $47.77.

Additionally, since the relative values for all of the fee tables were based upon 2003 relative value information, the fee schedules do not contain fees for the codes added in 2004, therefore a separate fee table is provided listing only the CPT® procedures added in 2004. The fees for the newly added codes only are based upon 2004 RVU data times the $47.77 conversion factor.
